How It All Began

After his military service, he therefore began to work as a simple salesman. The attitude to life that Ralph Lauren served with his fashion was by no means new at the time: tea in front of the fireplace in the ultra-rich Hamptons, preppy college outfits - the clothes of the American rich and famous were imitated by many fashion labels at the time.
