When do I need reading glasses?

Between the ages of 35 and 45, the elasticity of the eye lens decreases, and the eye can no longer adjust to different distances so well. Due to the lack of elasticity in presbyopia, numbers and letters become blurred at close range. The process is gradual, but at some point you realize your arms aren’t long enough anymore to be able to read a book easily! Age-related farsightedness (presbyopia) is no cause for concern but a natural aging process in the human eye.

Luckily, you can easily compensate for this with reading glasses and you’ll soon be reading, browsing or texting in a relaxed manner again. Also, if you haven’t chosen multifocal lenses after cataract surgery, you usually need reading glasses as a visual aid for small print.
